We are a warm, welcoming, diverse and accepting Christian community at the heart of the Staple Tye area of Harlow. We range from babies and toddlers to those in their eighties. We are lifelong Christians, or don’t yet think of ourselves as Christians at all…. We are as mixed a bunch as you could meet. But what we do have in common is this. That we have encountered the transforming love of God in our lives and so we are called to love. We get stuff wrong all the time…. so we must be generous with everybody else who gets stuff wrong!
If you live in Staple Tye or are in the area visiting family or friends, pop in to see us. It will be great to see you.
St James is a Local Ecumenical Partnership. We are a mix of denominations, while some of us don’t consider we belong to any denomination. Two services a month will be Church of England and two will be Methodist. Similarly our Wednesday morning services are a mix of Anglican and Methodist. Variety is the spice of life! We also share the building, social links and occasional special services and events with the Catholic congregation of St Luke.
